My Interest

So, I figured I should include my interest in the Disney College Program.

I have loved Disney since I was a kid. My family and I are DVC (Disney Vacation Club) members, and have taken family vacations to the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida numerous times. Disney is obviously renowned for its excellent customer service and guest experience, but it a company that has brought magic to the lives of millions.

I first heard about the DCP years ago during one of our vacations, but put it towards the back of my mind because I was still in high school at the time. Then, in February of 2013 it came back to my mind, but due to personal circumstances I didn't take a closer look until a few months later. I was too late to apply at that time, but spent the summer learning everything I possibly could about the program. Let me tell you there is a lot to discover. I decided I absolutely wanted to be a part of the program. I applied in September of 2013, and was denied two months later.

After being denied, I put everything I could into learning more, fixing my mistakes, and preparing for the February application.

Disney has been a huge part of my life and is the one place I wait all year to visit. To have the opportunity to work for and spend an extended amount of time in the happiest place on earth is unbelievable.

Unless you have experienced the magic that is Disney, then you probably wouldn't understand my lack of words in communicating my excitement about this company and its opportunities. However, if you do know of exactly the type of magic that I'm talking about then I implore you to discover if this is an opportunity you might be interested in!

The Disney College Program

Whenever I mention the Disney College Program people generally have two reactions. First, they recognize the "Disney" part of it and understand the weight of the world in that one word. Second, they ask, "What is that? What do you do?" This post is to answer such questions.

The Disney College Program is a paid internship available to college students who wish to work for the Walt Disney Company. More detailed information is available at <cp.disneycareers.com>. To apply for the program, a student must be at least eighteen years or older, have completed at least one semester of college, and be enrolled in college at the time off application. The program is offered for both the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida and the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California. Some colleges offer college credit for participation in the program, participants are paid hourly wages, and participants gain the experience of a life-time.

Details aside, the DCP (Disney College Program) is an amazing opportunity to work for a Fortune 100 company and gain valuable experience. Hope this helps give a general starting point!
