Okay so since I decided I wanted to have my car while working in Florida, basically to get to and from work and go out when I needed to, I needed to drive my car from Rhode Island to Florida. Now for my fellow Rhodies, you know that we consider anything over 30 minutes a "drive" because it takes us less than an hour to cross the state! So, when it takes eight hours to drive 400 miles to Maryland, I don't think I'll be complaining about a drive again :)
Here's what my car basically looked like this morning... considering its eight months, I think I did okay.
Now the traveling today was insane. I have put more miles on my car today than I have in the past month or more. Traveling with my dad, we filled up my tank before leaving and took a rest stop somewhere in Connecticut after about 100 miles, which was almost two hours into the trip. Then somewhere on the New Jersey turnpike, we took another rest stop for a snack and to fuel up. At that point we had traveled another 130 miles and were five hours into the trip. We fingered out that the 223 miles traveled divided by the 6.9 gallons we added to my tank equaled 32.31 miles per gallon, pretty good milage! Finally, after another three plus hours of driving and another 170 miles, we reached Silver Springs in Maryland. Tomorrow I plan to visit a couple of the sites in Washington, D.C. so until then enjoy!
Have a magical day!
